LINCOLN MODERN APARTMENT

This apartment is designed for a single occupant and is based on the concept of ‘hidden from plain sight’. Inspired by the owner’s love for a neutral and contrasting palette, ambient lighting and hidden storage, this project explores the strategic use of materials and secret doors to create a home filled with comfort and surprise. A continuous visual language is used to hide storage areas, enhance movement flows, and demarcate the living and service zones. The living and dining area serves as a zone for hosting guests, as well as a zone for the occupant to relax and unwind after a long day’s work. Dark wood tones not only create contrast, but also act as visual cues for storage and service areas such as a kitchen and bathroom, hidden behind these areas. Storage behind dark secret doors and panelling continue visually on the upper floor, curving into the master room and master bath. An unexpected blend of light pastel tones, soft finishes and ambient lighting fill and wrap the master room, creating a cosy and private zone, hidden away from the rest of the home.
